Ingredients:
Each coated tablet contains 50 mg of losartan potassium and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide.
Dosage:
The usual recommended dose is one tablet once daily. It is important to follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider.
Indications:
Lorista H 50 is indicated for the treatment of hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with losartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone.
Contraindications:
Do not use Lorista H 50 if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, if you are pregnant, or if you have severe liver or kidney disease.
Directions:
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Scientific Evidence:
Studies have shown that the combination of losartan and hydrochlorothiazide in Lorista H 50 is more effective in lowering blood pressure compared to either drug alone. Losartan works by blocking the action of a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict, while hydrochlorothiazide helps the body get rid of excess salt and water.
In a clinical trial published in the Journal of Hypertension, patients taking the combination of losartan and hydrochlorothiazide experienced a significant reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure compared to placebo.
Additional Information:
It is important to monitor your blood pressure regularly while taking Lorista H 50 to ensure it is within the desired range. Inform your doctor if you experience any side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or electrolyte imbalances.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Lorista H 50 as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure and dizziness.
