Description
Lorizan composition
active substance: loratadine;
1 tablet contains loratadine 10 mg;
excipients: lactose, monohydrate; potato starch; calcium stearate.
Dosage form
Tablets.
Pharmacological properties
Loratadine is a tricyclic selective blocker of peripheral H1-histamine receptors. When used in the recommended dose, it has no clinically significant sedative and anticholinergic effect. During long-term treatment, no clinically significant changes in vital signs, laboratory tests, data from a physical examination of the patient or in an electrocardiogram were revealed. Loratadine has no significant effect on the activity of H2-histamine receptors. Does not block the seizure of norepinephrine and has virtually no effect on the cardiovascular system or pacemaker activity.

Symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Contraindications
Lorizan is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the drug.
Children
The efficacy and safety of loratadine use in children under 2 years of age have not been established. The drug in the form of tablets is prescribed for children weighing more than 30 kg.
Application during pregnancy or lactation
This drug is not used during these periods of life.
Method of administration and dosage
Mode of application
Orally. Lorizan tablets can be taken with or without food.
Dosage:
- Adults and children over 12 years of age should take 1 tablet (10 mg loratadine) once a day.
- For children from 2 to 12 years old, the dosage depends on body weight. With a body weight of more than 30 kg: 10 mg (1 tablet) 1 time per day. For children weighing less than 30 kg, use the drug in the form of a syrup.
Overdose
Loratadine overdose increases the incidence of anticholinergic symptoms. Overdose reported drowsiness, tachycardia, and headache. In case of overdose, symptomatic and supportive treatment is recommended for the required period of time. It is possible to use activated carbon in the form of an aqueous suspension. You can also wash the stomach. Loratadine is not excreted from the body during hemodialysis; the effectiveness of peritoneal dialysis in removing the drug is unknown. After emergency care, the patient should remain under medical supervision.
Side effects:
- From the immune system – anaphylaxis, including angioedema.
- From the nervous system – dizziness, convulsions.
- From the gastrointestinal tract – nausea, dry mouth, gastritis.
- On the part of the digestive system – pathological changes in liver function.
- Violation of the general condition and associated with the method of application of the drug: very rarely – fatigue.

Storage conditions
Store Lorizan in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.
