Lorosan composition
active substance: liquid extract (60: 100) of sunflower flowers (flores helianthi) (extractant – ethanol 70%);
1 ml of the drug contains an extract of liquid (60: 100) sunflower flowers (flores helianthi) (extractant – ethanol 70%) (in terms of dry matter) 330 mg;
excipients: propylene glycol; methylparaben (E 218); propylparaben (E 216); sodium saccharin; citric acid, monohydrate; purified water.

Dosage form
Oromucosal spray, solution.

Packaging
30 ml in a bottle with a metering pump with a spray; 1 bottle in a pack of cardboard.

Pharmacological properties
Sunflower flower extract is an antibacterial drug Lorosan of natural origin. The biologically active substances contained in it inhibit the growth of some bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Bacillus subtilis), as well as the vesicular stomatitis virus. In addition, when applied topically, the drug has a pronounced wound-healing effect.

Indication
Acute respiratory diseases, sore throats, laryngitis, pharyngitis, prevention of vesicular stomatitis.

Contraindication
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
The drug enhances the action of other antibacterial drugs.

Features of application
The vial is shaken for 1 min and no more than 5 pressures are applied to the nozzle until a dispersed jet appears. It is allowed to repeat the operation again in the absence of a jet. Then insert the free end of the nebulizer into the mouth and press on the valve head for 1-2 s, holding the vial upright.
Excipients may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed) and, in some cases, bronchospasm.

Children
No studies in children have been performed, so the drug is not recommended.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
As no studies have been performed during pregnancy or lactation, its use is not recommended.

Ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving a car or other machinery

Method of application and dosage
Apply Lorosan topically, by irrigation, on the mucous membranes of the mouth and nasopharynx. Adults are irrigated 3-4 times a day. The duration of use depends on the intensity of therapy and is usually from 3 to 7 days.

Overdose
Not observed.

Side effects
Excipients may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed) and, in some cases, bronchospasm. There may be a burning sensation in the back of the pharynx, which does not require discontinuation of the drug.
