Lugs composition
active substance: iodine;
100 g of the drug contains 1 g of iodine;
Excipients: potassium iodide, glycerin, eucalyptus tincture (contains ethanol), purified water.

Dosage form
Solution for external use.

Pharmacological properties
The drug Lugs contains iodine, which has an antimicrobial effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including streptococci, staphylococci, Escherichia coli. The mechanism of antimicrobial action is manifested in the denaturation of protein due to interaction with N-groups of protein molecules.

Indication
Inflammatory diseases of the throat and pharynx (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sore throat, glossitis, aphthous stomatitis) – as part of complex therapy.

Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to individual iodine and other components of the drug. Hyperthyroidism, decompensated heart, kidney, liver failure, study or radioactive iodine therapy (2 weeks before and after the study or therapy).

Special security measures
The drug Lugs is not intended for oral administration. Do not inhale and / or swallow the drug. Use with caution in laryngitis due to the possibility of laryngospasm, tuberculosis, hemorrhagic diathesis. Avoid contact with eyes.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
Do not use simultaneously with hydrogen peroxide solution and other disinfectants.

Children
Do not prescribe to children under 8 years of age.

Ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving a car or working with other mechanisms

Method of application and dosage
Turn the sprayer upside down, press the cap 1-2 times so that the solution enters the sprayer and is sprayed after pressing. Then insert the spray 2-3 cm into the mouth, close your mouth, hold your breath and press 2 times on the cap so that one irrigation is carried out on the right, the other – on the left. After use, rinse the removable part of the spray with warm water. Apply the drug 1-2 times a day (with a break of at least 6 hours) after meals. The course of treatment depends on the severity and course of the disease, as well as the nature of concomitant therapy.

Overdose
Iodine may occur (runny nose, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, tearing, salivation, skin rash, muscle weakness, inhibition).
Treatment. Immediate discontinuation of the drug and symptomatic therapy.

Side effects
Prolonged use may cause iodism (rhinitis, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, lacrimation, salivation, skin rashes, muscle weakness, inhibition), urticaria.

Expiration date
3 years.

Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ºC out of reach of children.
