Pharmacological properties
It is an enterosorbent with pronounced absorbing properties. Absorbs and removes toxic substances from the gastrointestinal tract, incl. microbial toxins, allergens, and other toxic products. In addition, it exhibits antimicrobial, wound healing, detoxification activity.

Indications
Maxisorb is used:

  • with food poisoning, incl. mushrooms;
  • with alcohol / drug intoxication;
  • in the treatment of acute intestinal infections – acute intestinal diseases (salmonellosis, other food toxicoinfections);
  • with allergic diseases of different localization (diathesis, atopic dermatitis);
  • for the complex treatment of viral hepatitis A, B;
  • as a detoxification agent for cirrhosis of the liver, toxic hepatitis, kidney pathologies accompanied by renal failure, enterocolitis, hepatocholecystitis;
  • with burn disease;
  • as a detoxification agent in conditions accompanied by purulent-septic processes.

Contraindications:

  • with intestinal obstruction;
  • with peptic ulcer, erosion of the stomach / intestines (exacerbation);
  • children under one year old;
  • persons with intolerance to silicon dioxide.

Children
Do not prescribe to children under 1 year.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Not assigned.

Method of administration and dosage
Before use, the powder must be mixed with clean chilled water and shaken thoroughly.
And a bottle containing 12 g of the drug is added 250 ml of water. 20 ml (full tablespoon) of the resulting suspension contains approximately one g of the drug.
The finished suspension is taken orally. If independent use of the suspension is impossible (there is no consciousness, swallowing is impaired, etc.), the suspension can be injected into the stomach using a probe.
The finished suspension is taken one hour before meals, taking other medications.
The daily dose of the drug is usually divided into 3-4 doses.
Adults, as well as children over seven years old, are shown 1200 mg / day, but if necessary, the specified amount is allowed to be doubled.
The daily dose for children is calculated by multiplying 150-200 mg for each kilogram of the child’s weight. More than half of the children’s daily dose should not be used at one time.
In the treatment of viral hepatitis, acute intestinal diseases (acute intestinal diseases), treatment begins with a maximum single dose – 7000–10000 mg x 2-3 times / day. The duration of treatment for acute intestinal infections, as a rule, does not exceed 5 days. With a severe form of the disease, the course of therapy is extended to 15 days. In the treatment of viral hepatitis, Maxisorb is used for 7-10 days.

Overdose
There are no reports of cases of overdose with this medicine. When using the medication in excessive doses, stool disturbance (difficult bowel movement) may occur.

Side effects
There is a possibility of constipation, allergies (itching, swelling, urticaria, allergic dermatitis, systemic reactions, including anaphylactic shock, angioedema).

Storage conditions and periods
Temperature conditions: 15-25 ° С. Store no more than three years in original, undamaged packaging. The medicine in the form of a prepared suspension is stored in a tightly closed bottle in a refrigerator (2–8 ° C) for no more than 32 hours. Parents must ensure the safety of their children by ensuring that medicines are not available to them.
