Scientific Evidence:
Montelukast, the active ingredient in Milucant tablets, is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that works by blocking the action of leukotrienes in the body. Leukotrienes are chemicals in the body that can cause asthma symptoms by constricting airways, increasing mucus production, and causing inflammation. By blocking leukotrienes, montelukast helps to prevent asthma symptoms and improve lung function.
Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of montelukast in improving asthma control, reducing the frequency of asthma exacerbations, and improving quality of life in patients with asthma. Studies have shown that montelukast is well-tolerated and can be used as an alternative or adjunct to inhaled corticosteroids in the management of asthma.
Additional Information:
- Store Milucant tablets at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
- Avoid taking additional doses of montelukast if you miss a dose; simply resume your regular dosing schedule.
- Contact your healthcare provider if you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Milucant tablets.
