Description

Mucofalk composition
One sachet (1 teaspoon) contains: active ingredient – Plantago ovata Forssk seed husk powder. (plantain oval), excipients: dextrin, sucrose, citric acid, sodium alginate, sodium saccharinate, sodium citrate, sodium chloride, orange flavor.

B 5 g of granules contains the amount of digestible carbohydrates, which corresponds to 0.064 XE (bread units).

Release form
It is produced in the form of granules with orange flavor for preparation of suspension in sachets of 5 g.

Pharmacological properties
Mucofalk is a medicine that improves bowel function. Hydrophilic fibers from the shell of psyllium seeds can retain fluid in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby increasing the volume and softening the consistency of the stool. The medicine restores the normal functioning of the intestines, regulating its activity, and also facilitating the passage of the contents.

Indications
Mucofalk is prescribed:

  • with constipation (including in pregnant women);
  • with anal fissures;
  • with hemorrhoids (to regulate stool consistency);
  • with functional diarrhea;
  • in the postoperative period during surgical interventions in the anorectal region (in order to form a softer stool consistency);
  • with irritable bowel syndrome.

Contraindications:

  • in case of hypersensitivity (allergy) to plants of the Plantain family, drug components;
  • with organic strictures (narrowing) of the digestive tract;
  • with intestinal obstruction;
  • with decompensated diabetes mellitus.

Children
It is used in pediatrics for children over 12 years old.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
There are no restrictions or contraindications for the use of this medication during pregnancy, lactation.

Method of administration and dosage
The drug Mucofalk is intended for oral administration (by mouth).
Standard dosage for adults, children over 12 years old is one sachet or one teaspoon x 2-6 times / day. Before use, one sachet (or one teaspoon) of granules is poured into a glass, which is slowly filled with cold water (approximately 150 ml), stirred and drunk immediately with another glass of liquid.

Overdose
Overdose cases are not described. Typical signs of a drug overdose are possible: urge to vomit, upset stools (diarrhea or constipation), abdominal pain / discomfort.
In case of an overdose, you should immediately seek medical attention.

Side effects
In the first days of treatment, there may be an increase in flatulence, a feeling of fullness in the abdomen.
There is a possibility of developing an allergic reaction, manifested by hyperemia (redness) of the skin, itching, urticaria rashes (urticaria), skin irritation, allergic rhinitis (runny nose), shortness of breath. More formidable manifestations of allergies are not excluded: Quincke’s edema (rapidly developing edema of the face or part of it, eyes, lips, larynx with respiratory failure), anaphylactic shock (severe itching of the skin, quickly spreading through the skin, a sharp drop in blood pressure, vomiting, loose stools , laryngeal edema, noisy and labored breathing, pallor or cyanosis of the skin, a sharp narrowing of the bronchi and larynx, leading to acute difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, disruption of the vital organs).

Storage conditions and periods
The medicine must be stored in its original (factory) packaging in compliance with the temperature regime (within 15-25 ° C), low humidity and no direct sunlight. The maximum shelf life is indicated on the packaging (three years). Not to be used after the expiration date. Parents need to keep their children safe and restrict their access to medication.
