Scientific Evidence

Fluticasone propionate, the active ingredient in Nazofan nasal spray, is a synthetic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown that intranasal corticosteroids like fluticasone propionate are effective in reducing nasal symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, and itching in allergic rhinitis patients. Research also suggests that fluticasone propionate nasal spray is well-tolerated and safe for long-term use.

Additional Information

It may take several days of regular use before the full benefit of Nazofan nasal spray is seen. If symptoms do not improve or worsen after using the spray, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. Store the bottle at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Fluticasone propionate exerts its pharmacological effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators in the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing nasal congestion, itching, and sneezing. Unlike oral corticosteroids, intranasal corticosteroids have minimal systemic absorption, reducing the risk of systemic side effects.

Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of fluticasone propionate nasal spray in improving nasal symptoms and quality of life in patients with allergic rhinitis. In a comparative study, fluticasone propionate was found to be as effective as other intranasal corticosteroids in relieving nasal congestion and rhinorrhea.
