Nazol Baby composition
active substance: phenylephrine hydrochloride;
1 ml of the drug contains 1.25 mg (0.125% solution);
excipients: benzalkonium chloride; glycerin; macrogol 1500; sodium hydrogen phosphate, dihydrate; potassium dihydrogen phosphate; disodium edetate, dihydrate; purified water.

Dosage form
Nasal drops.

Indications
Nazol Baby is used in the treatment of sinusitis, acute rhinitis and in the treatment of acute otitis media, as an adjuvant.
Nazol Baby can also be prescribed to patients who have undergone surgery in the nasal cavity to prevent and eliminate swelling of the nasal mucosa and paranasal grooves.

Contraindications
Nazol Baby is not prescribed to patients who have been found to be intolerant of phenylephrine hydrochloride, arterial hypertension, decompensated heart failure, tachysystolic heart rhythm disturbances, thyrotoxicosis, acute pancreatitis, hepatitis, renal failure, impaired cardiac conduction, atrophic conductivity.
Nazol Baby cannot be used in conjunction with MAO inhibitors, also for another 15 days after stopping them.
The drug is not recommended for use in conjunction with other vasoconstrictor drugs, as this can lead to a persistent increase in blood pressure.

Children
The drug is used in pediatric practice to treat children from 2 months to 6 years old.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Due to the low toxicity of Nasol Baby nasal drops, they can be used in the treatment of nursing or pregnant women, but only if absolutely necessary.
It is much more effective in the treatment of adult patients to use the drug in an appropriate dosage, since the use of drops in a children’s dosage may not allow the desired effect to be obtained.

Method of administration and dosage
Nazol Baby should be instilled into the baby in each nasal passage for children from 2 months to a year – 1 drop, from a year to 2 years – 1 or 2 drops, from 2 to 6 years – 2 or 3 drops 4 times a day. There should be at least 4 hours between drug administration.
Children who are 6 years of age or older can be treated with more concentrated drugs, such as Nazol Kids.
The drug is not used in the treatment of children under two years of age. The duration of use should not exceed 3 days. Using the product for more than three days can lead to damage to the nasal mucosa.

Overdose
With local use of the drug Nazol Baby, symptoms of intoxication develop very rarely. With prolonged use of the drug in high doses or taking the drug orally, patients may experience cardiac arrhythmias, discomfort and pain in the heart, increased blood pressure, convulsions, sleep disturbances, tremors of the extremities, inappropriate behavior, irritability, urinary retention, narrowing of the lumen of peripheral vessels, metabolic acidosis.
The patient is prescribed symptomatic treatment.

Side effects
In rare cases, after taking the drug, patients may develop dryness and burning of the nasal mucosa, a feeling of flushing to the face, heart rhythm disturbances, allergic reactions, increased blood pressure, a feeling of fear and dizziness.

Storage conditions and periods
Nazol Baby must be stored in a tightly closed bottle in places that are difficult for children to reach. Duration of storage of the drug is 2 years.
