Description

Neladex composition and form of release
Active ingredients: neomycin (3.5 mg), dexamethasone (1 mg), polymyxin B sulfate (6000 ME).
Available as eye / ear drops.

Pharmacological properties
It is a combined topical anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agent. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that penetrates the bacterial cell membrane, binds to specific receptors on the 30S ribosome subunit and disrupts the process of protein synthesis, exerting a bacteriostatic effect (stops the growth and reproduction of bacteria). At higher concentrations, it damages the cytoplasmic membranes of microbial cells, causing their rapid death (bactericidal effect). Polymyxin B is an antibiotic of a polypeptide structure that binds to phospholipids of cell membranes, destroying them. Dexamethasone is a glucocorticoid agent that has a pronounced antiallergic, anti-inflammatory, desensitizing effect.
