Scientific Evidence:

Nimodipine, the active ingredient in Nemotan tablets, is a calcium channel blocker that specifically acts on cerebral blood vessels. By blocking calcium influx into smooth muscle cells, nimodipine dilates blood vessels in the brain, improving blood flow and oxygen delivery to brain tissues.

Several studies have demonstrated the efficacy of nimodipine in reducing the incidence of delayed cerebral ischemia and improving neurological outcomes in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage. A meta-analysis published in the Journal of Neurology concluded that nimodipine significantly reduced the risk of poor outcomes after subarachnoid hemorrhage.
