Description

Normacol composition
The main active ingredients are sodium hydrogen phosphate and sodium dihydrogen phosphate.
Excipients: sodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, purified water.

Release form
It is produced in the form of a solution for enemas, ready to use and packaged in 1 dose in  130 ml each (23.66 g sodium phosphate dihydrate / 10.4 g of sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate).

Pharmacological properties
This drug Normacol belongs to the group of osmotic drugs used in gastroenterology to normalize the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract.
The main active ingredients are sodium hydrogen phosphate and sodium dihydrogen phosphate. It is a saline laxative. It has water-retaining properties, the ability to osmotically increase the retention of fluids in the small intestine (in its lumen).
After taking the drug together with a large amount of water, it leads to the fact that fluid accumulates in the ileal part of the intestine. At the same time, the intestines are stretched. Peristalsis in the gastrointestinal tract increases many times over, and its rapid emptying occurs.
The effectiveness of the drug is so high that sodium salts are involved in almost all laxatives used to completely cleanse the large intestine, which is especially important when carrying out some surgical, research and prophylactic procedures.
