Description
Oftaclin composition
1 ml of drops contains: miramistin (0.1 mg), as an active ingredient.
Additional components: sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, water for injection.
Release form
Produced in the form of eye drops, a clear, colorless liquid. Packaged in a 5 ml dropper bottle with first opening control.
Pharmacological properties
Oftaclin is intended for use in ophthalmology. Possesses bacteriostatic properties in relation to gram-negative and gram-positive, anaerobic and aerobic, asporogenic and spore-forming bacteria, including hospital strains with multi-resistance to antibiotics.
The action of the eye drops helps to reduce the resistance of microorganisms to antibiotics, enhance local defense reactions, strengthen immunity, accelerating recovery. Has the ability to suppress and inhibit the reproduction and growth of bacteria.
Indications for use

Treatment and preventive therapy of purulent-inflammatory lesions of the eyes before and after surgery.
Prevention of neonatal ophthalmia, including chlamydial and gonococcal.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug in history.
Children

Pregnancy and breastfeeding period
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of the drug has no contraindications.
Mode of application
For adults and children over 12 years old, for the treatment of infectious diseases of the anterior part of the eye, it is necessary to drip 2-3 drops into the conjunctival sac 4-6 times a day.
Children under 12 years of age are treated with Oftaclin in a dose of 1-2 drops 4-6 times a day.
Usually the duration of use is no more than 14 days. Depending on the severity and nature of the disease, the duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually for each patient.
In order to prevent complications before surgery and in the postoperative period, the dose of the drug is 2-3 drops 3 times a day 2-3 days before surgery. After the operation, 1-2 drops are instilled 3 times a day for 3-5 days.
In case of eye burns, it is necessary to rinse the eyes with copious amounts of water and carry out frequent installations for 1-2 hours at intervals of 5-10 minutes. After that, the drug is used in a dose of 2-3 drops 4-6 times a day for adult patients and children over 12 years old and 1-2 drops 4-6 times a day for children under 12 years old.
For the prevention of ophthalmia in newborns immediately after birth, the child should be instilled 1 drop of Oftaclin into each eye 3 times (every 2-3 minutes).
Overdose
An overdose of the drug is not described anywhere.

Adverse reactions
The use of drops can cause the manifestation of hypersensitivity reactions.
