Description

Oftagel composition and form of release
Oftagel is made in the form of an eye gel. The main active ingredient of the drug is carbomer 974R.

Indications
Oftagel is used to treat keratoconjunctivitis dry and other conditions associated with dry eye syndrome.
Oftagel is a kind of tear fluid replacement. The use of the drug contributes to an increase in the viscosity of the tear fluid and the formation of a protective moisturizing film on the cornea of the eye, which can significantly improve the quality of life of people who suffer from dry eye syndrome, by eliminating itching, dryness and discomfort in the eyes.

Contraindications
Not prescribed if the patient has hypersensitivity to carbomer 974P.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is possible if the benefits to the mother’s health are several times greater than the risks to the fetus.
To date, there is no reliable data on the degree of penetration of carbomer 974P into breast milk, therefore, if it is necessary to prescribe the drug to women at the lactation stage, it is recommended to stop breastfeeding.

Method of administration and dosage
Oftagel is used for eye instillation. During the instillation of the gel, it is necessary to slightly pull back the lower eyelid and add the required number of drops of the drug, then slowly close and open the eye several times to evenly distribute the product over the cornea. The duration of treatment and the dose of the drug is determined by the doctor based on the severity of the disease.
Most often, adults receive one drop of the drug no more than 4 times a day.
Remember! Keratoconjunctivitis dry requires long-term and systematic treatment under the supervision of a physician.
It is not recommended to use soft contact lenses during therapy. Before instillation, you should first remove hard contact lenses from the eyes. After the introduction of the drug, the re-installation of the lenses is possible no earlier than fifteen minutes later.
