Oftal composition
1 ml of drops contains: tetrizoline hydrochloride (0.5 mg), as an active component, as auxiliary substances in the composition are indicated: boric acid, sodium tetraborate, benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, disodium edetate, purified water.

Release form
Available in the form of eye drops, a clear, colorless liquid. Packaged in a 5 ml glass bottle complete with instructions for use and dropper cap.

Pharmacological properties
Oftal is intended for use in ophthalmology, as an antiallergic and decongestant. Eye drops help reduce conjunctival edema, burning sensation, irritation, itching, soreness of the mucous membrane of the eyes, and reduce lacrimation.

Indications for use
Oftal eye drops are used for the temporary symptomatic relief of secondary ocular hyperemia as a result of moderate irritation.

Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to drug components and glaucoma. Do not use drops for acute eye infections.

Children
It is used in pediatrics for children from 2 years old.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding period
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of eye drops is not recommended, since there have been no strictly controlled and adequate studies of the use of drops in pregnant and lactating women. If it becomes necessary to use the drug, it should be consulted for evaluation.

Mode of application
The drug Oftal is intended for topical use, it is strictly forbidden to take inside.
The recommended dose for adult patients and children over 6 years old is 2-3 drops in the conjunctival sac of the eye no more than 4 times a day.
Drops should be used for more than 72 hours and children aged 2 to 6 years need only as directed and under strict medical supervision.

Overdose
If you adhere to the instructions for using the drug and do not exceed the doses indicated in it, there can be no overdose.
Overdose symptoms are reactive hyperemia or an increase in hyperemia.
In case of accidental ingestion of the drug inside in high doses, it is possible: bradycardia, a decrease in blood pressure, drowsiness, apathy, apnea, a decrease in body temperature, depression of the central nervous system and even coma. When the first symptoms of an overdose appear, it is necessary to flush the stomach. Take activated charcoal and apply symptomatic treatment.

Adverse reactions
The use of drops practically does not cause side effects, sometimes hypersensitivity reactions may occur (irritation, redness, burning, pain, eyelid edema, itching, lacrimation). Usually, all these symptoms disappear immediately after the drug is discontinued. Reactive (rebound) hyperemia of the eye and mydriasis (dilated pupils) are also possible.
If the above or any other undesirable reactions appear, you should consult your doctor for advice.

Storage conditions
The drug should be stored in tightly closed original packaging, at a temperature not exceeding + 25 ° C, out of the field of vision of small children, out of direct sunlight.
The expiration date is indicated on each packaging from the manufacturer and is 24 months.
After the bottle has been opened, its contents must be used within 28 days.
