Pharmacological properties
Ogestan is a unique complex of 5 carefully selected micronutrients necessary to meet the physiological needs of a woman’s body during the periods: planning pregnancy, pregnancy, lactation, as well as for normal growth and development of the fetus.
Micronutrients are essential nutrients that take part in many biochemical reactions in the human body and are responsible for normal metabolism. These include vitamins, trace elements, polyunsaturated fatty acids and others. During pregnancy, the female body’s need for micronutrients increases.
Augestan contains only essential components that the body of a pregnant woman and an unborn child needs, in dosages recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). It does not overload the body with an excess of components that can be poorly absorbed and cause side effects in the form of allergic reactions.

Recommendations for use
Determined by the composition of the active ingredients of Ogestan:

  • Folic acid (vitamin B9) plays an important role in the development of the nervous system of the fetus and ensuring its normal growth and development; participates in the synthesis of amino acids, nucleotides and nucleic acids; needed for the formation of erythrocytes and other blood cells. In the early stages of pregnancy, it reduces the risk of developing fetal neural tube defects. Folic acid deficiency is especially dangerous in the first weeks of pregnancy, this vitamin is recommended to be taken already at the planning stage of pregnancy, as well as during the entire period of gestation.
  • Iodine is a vital trace mineral necessary for the normal functioning of the mother’s thyroid gland. Thyroid hormones are involved in the formation and development of the fetal brain, being responsible for memory, intelligence, hearing and mobility of the child in the future, regulate the metabolism of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and energy in the body, as well as the activity of the cardiovascular system, genital and mammary glands, affect the growth and development of the child. The need for iodine in the female body increases significantly during pregnancy.
  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid. It plays an irreplaceable role in the development of the child’s brain and retina. Due to its lack in the mother’s body, an increase in the risk of preterm birth and low birth weight are associated. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the need for DHA increases 2.5 times compared to the normal physiological need.
  • Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) regulates the exchange of calcium and phosphorus in the body, ensures the normal formation of the skeleton and teeth; prevents the development of rickets in children. It also helps prevent maternal bone loss and reduces the risk of osteoporosis.
  • D-α-tocopherol (vitamin E) is a natural antioxidant that protects cellular structures from acidification. Participates in super important processes of tissue metabolism, synthesis of proteins and hemoglobin, positively affects the function of skeletal muscles, heart and blood vessels, gonads. Lack of vitamin E in early pregnancy can cause miscarriage.

Recommendations for use
For women 3 months before planned conception, during pregnancy, after childbirth and during breastfeeding, as a source of the Omega-3 complex of polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins E, P3, folic acid and iodine.
