Onabet composition
Active ingredient: sertaconazole nitrate (20 mg).
Excipients: benzyl alcohol, glycerin monostearate, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, sorbitan stearate, octyldodecanol, polysorbate 60, light mineral oil, purified water.

Release form
Available in the form of a cream.

Pharmacological properties
It is a topical antifungal agent (applied to the skin). Derived from imidazole. It has a strong fungicidal effect, having a wide range of activity against pathogenic fungi – yeasts (Pityrosporum orbiculare, Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis), dermatophytes (Epidermophyton, Microsporum, Trichophyton), other pathogens that provoke infectious diseases of the skin or mucous membranes, including gram-positive microorganisms ( Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.), Trichomonas (Trichomonas vaginalis). The mechanism of action of the drug is due to the ability to inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol, increase the permeability of fungal cell membranes, causing the death of fungi.

Indications
Onabet is used for the topical treatment of fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts:

  • with epidermophytosis of the feet;
  • with epidermophytosis inguinal;
  • with dermatomycosis of smooth skin;
  • with trichophytosis of the area of ​​the beard, mustache;
  • with dermatomycosis of the hands;
  • with candidiasis;
  • with pityriasis versicolor.

Contraindications:

  • with intolerance to the components of the drug;
  • if you are allergic to any antifungal derivatives of the imidazole group in the past.

Children
Not used in pediatrics.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
The effect on newborns, the embryo, the course of pregnancy has not been studied, therefore, before prescribing the drug to a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, a risk-benefit ratio should be assessed.

Method of administration and dosage
Onabet is applied topically by applying a thin layer (evenly and gently) to the affected areas of the skin, capturing approximately 1 cm of healthy skin around the affected area.
The cream is applied once or twice a day (preferably at night or in the morning).
The duration of treatment depends on the type of pathogen, localization of the infection.
Treatment is usually recommended for 4 weeks to achieve clinical remission (with negative microbiological analysis), to prevent relapse.
Clinical recovery often occurs earlier, between the second and fourth week of therapy.

Overdose
Taking into account the low concentration of the active substance, as well as the route of administration, intoxication is unlikely.
In case of accidental ingestion (swallowing), appropriate treatment should be applied (gastric lavage, use of sorbents, prescription of symptomatic therapy).

Side effects:

  • Dermatological disorders: contact dermatitis (urticaria, burning, dry skin, itching), erythematous reactions.
  • Immune disorders: the possibility of developing allergic reactions is not excluded (urticaria, rash, itching, redness of the face and skin, bronchospasm, angioedema), incl. anaphylactic shock.

Storage conditions and periods
Store Onabet for no more than two years at temperatures up to +25 ° C.
It is forbidden to use the cream after the expiration date indicated on the drug packaging.
Parents are obliged to ensure the safety of their children by completely excluding the possibility of their access to medicines.
