Description

Orasept composition
Active ingredient (per 1 ml): phenol (14 mg).
Excipients: purified water, glycerin, cherry flavor, sodium saccharin, FD & C red E129 dye.

Release form
Available in the form of an oral spray.

Pharmacological properties
It is a local antiseptic for sore throats. Contains phenol, which is an antiseptic (has a bactericidal, antifungal effect) and a local anesthetic. Glycerin has a softening effect on the oral mucosa.

Indications
Orasept is shown to relieve pain, discomfort with infections of the oropharynx (stomatitis – inflammation of the oral mucosa, laryngitis – inflammation of the larynx, tonsillitis – inflammation of the tonsils, pharyngitis – inflammation of the pharynx, gingivitis – inflammation of the gums).
It is also used to care for the oral cavity after various dental interventions, when using dentures, orthodontic appliances.

Contraindications:

  • with intolerance to the components;
  • with common lesions of the mucous membrane of the oropharynx;
  • with impaired liver function, kidney severe;
  • with inflammation of the epiglottis;
  • with bronchial asthma, other respiratory diseases associated with airway hyperresponsiveness.

Children
It is used in pediatrics for children from 2 years old.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
The safety studies of this drug have not been sufficiently conducted, therefore, its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

Method of administration and dosage
Orasept is applied topically by spraying into the mouth and / or pharynx. The solution can be swallowed.
When applied in the oral cavity, it is recommended to hold the solution in the oral cavity for 15 seconds.

  • The standard dose for adults, children from 12 years old is up to 5 sprays.
  • The standard dose for children 2 to 12 years old is three sprays.

Sprays are repeated every 2-4 hours, or as recommended by a doctor. The duration of use is determined by the clinical effect, the tolerability of the drug.
The duration of application for uncomplicated conditions should not exceed 7 days.

Overdose
Symptoms: damage to the mucous membranes, vomiting, diarrhea, increased sweating, dizziness, weakness, agitation, loss of consciousness, depression of the nervous system, blood circulation, respiration, pulmonary edema, liver / kidney damage.
It is required to cancel the drug, conduct symptomatic therapy.

Side effects:

  • Immune disorders: manifestations of allergies (erythema, urticaria, pruritus, rash, bronchospasm, angioedema), incl. anaphylactic shock.
  • Neurological disorders: violation of taste (ageusia, dysgeusia), sense of smell (anosmia), changes in taste perception.
  • Digestive disorders: heartburn, nausea, pain in the supragastric region, dry mouth, dysphagia, discomfort when swallowing.
  • Dermatological disorders: contact dermatitis, exanthema.
  • Urinary disorders: chromaturia.
  • Local reactions: burning sensation, numbness of the tongue, soreness of the mucous membrane and tongue, feeling of heat, itching, decreased sensitivity, paresthesia of the mucous membrane, vesicles, inflammation, ulceration, sore throat, dryness of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, edema at the site of contact.

Storage conditions and periods
Store Orasept in its original packaging. Temperature range – up to + 25 ° С, relative air humidity – no higher than 75%. The shelf life of this product is two years.
It is forbidden to use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
Parents are obliged to ensure the safety of their children by excluding the possibility of their access to medicines.
