The composition of the drug includes valerian, lemon balm, peppermint.

Pharmacological properties This drug belongs to the group of complex phytopreparations that affect the functioning of the nervous and cardiovascular systems, is used in neurology and cardiology. The main active ingredients are valerian, lemon balm and mint extracts. The cardiological effect is due to useful microelements, which are part of, in particular, essential oils, steroids, stachydrin, leopurine, flavonoids, borneol, quercetin, saponins, ascorbic and valeric acids, alkaloids, bitterness, mineral salts, and other substances. Passionflower and mint contain substances that contribute to the sedative effect of the drug. Oral administration of the drug contributes to a positive effect on the state of the cardiovascular system. It has a cardiotonic, moderate sedative (sedative effect). It causes a decrease in the excitation of the central nervous system, enhances the effect of sedatives, analgesics, antispasmodic and cardiotonic drugs.
Indications
Persen is used for neuroses that are accompanied by severe psychoemotional stress, decreased attention, anxiety and insomnia and require therapy with potent drugs.
The drug can be used in substitution therapy for the abolition of strong sedatives. It is prescribed for the prevention of the development of psychosomatic disorders in the presence of pronounced stress factors. In addition, Persen is used in the treatment of vegetative-vascular dystonia.
Contraindications
Prescribing the drug is contraindicated if the patient has low blood pressure, sucrase and isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, cholelithiasis and cholangitis, as well as other pathologies of the biliary tract and hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
It is prescribed with caution to patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease.
If during the treatment with the drug for a long time there is no improvement in the patient’s condition or, on the contrary, the condition worsens, it is recommended to stop taking the drug.
While taking the drug, the patient during treatment should refuse to drive a vehicle or potentially dangerous mechanisms, since the components that make up the drug provoke a decrease in attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
Children
Not used in the therapy of patients under 12 years of age.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Research on the effect on the development of the fetus has not been conducted, therefore, it is prescribed with great care during pregnancy and lactation.
Method of administration and dosage
Persen is a drug intended for oral administration. The tablets are taken orally, regardless of the meal. If the tablet is swallowed, it is recommended to drink it with a sufficient amount of water.
Children over the age of 12 and adult patients take the drug with increased excitability and irritability, 2 or 3 tablets 2 to 3 times per knock. When treating insomnia, the drug must be taken half an hour or an hour before going to bed. The patient can take no more than 12 tablets per day. It is not recommended to take for more than two months. After discontinuation of the drug, the patient does not experience withdrawal symptoms.
Overdose
An overdose is accompanied by a feeling of fatigue, stomach cramps, a feeling of tightness in the chest, tremors of the hands, dizziness, and dilated pupils. If the symptoms of an overdose are not pronounced, then they go away on their own 24 hours after the last drug intake. In more severe cases, the patient should be gastric lavage and appropriate treatment should be prescribed.
Side effects
In rare cases, taking the drug may be accompanied by the development of allergic reactions, prolonged constipation and bronchospasm.
Storage conditions and periods
Store in a dry place out of reach of children. Duration of storage is 3 years.
