Description
Pilfud composition and form of release
Main active ingredients: 1 ml of spray contains 50 mg of minoxidil.
Excipients: ethanol 96%, propylene glycol, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
This tool belongs to dermatological drugs.
The active ingredient stops the process of hair loss by increasing the diameter of the hair shaft.
The preparation stimulates the anagen phase of hair growth and lengthens it. As a result, the anagen hair coverage is restored after the telogen phase. According to the mechanism of action, the active ingredient is able to improve the microcirculation process in the hair follicles.
There is an increase in vascular endothelial growth factor. This leads to more active development of capillaries, increased metabolic activity during the anagen phase of hair growth.
Indications
Pilfud is prescribed for male-pattern alopecia in women and men.
Contraindications
The drug in question is contraindicated for use in cases where the patient has severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or one of the auxiliary components.
The drug is contraindicated in the following cases:
- scalp diseases (including psoriasis and sunburn);
- the simultaneous use of other topical preparations or an occlusive dressing on the scalp;
- arterial hypertension;
- the patient’s age is over 65 years.
Children The drug is not used in pediatrics.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
This drug is not recommended for pregnant women – only under strict indications determined by the attending physician. If it is necessary to take the drug during breastfeeding, lactation is suspended.
Method of administration and dosage
Dry your scalp and hair thoroughly before using Pilfud solution.
Using a spray bottle on dry skin in the baldness area, apply 1 ml of solution 2 times a day and rub it lightly, moving from the center to the periphery of the site. With each use, the nebulizer must be pressed 8 times to apply 1 ml of solution. The daily dose should not exceed 2 ml. After each use of the solution, you need to wash your hands.
To achieve a therapeutic effect, the solution must be applied 2 times a day for at least 4 months. After achieving clinical improvement, you need to continue using the drug to maintain hair growth.
Overdose
In cases of overdose, the following symptoms may occur:
- cardiovascular disorders;
- arterial hypotension and tachycardia associated with sodium and fluid retention.
Side effects
The drug is usually well tolerated when used in the recommended doses.
The following disorders can be observed as side effects:
- headache;
- palpitations, chest pain, increased heart rate;
- dyspnea;
- hypertrichosis (unwanted hair growth on areas of the scalp, including facial hair growth in women);
- itching (including rash with itching at the site of application, generalized itching, itchy eyes);
- change in color and texture of hair;
- cases of temporary alopecia;
- peeling of the skin (including at the site of application, exfoliative rash, exfoliative dermatitis);
- rash (including at the site of application, pustular, papular, generalized and macular rash);
- acne (pimples);
- dermatitis (including contact at the site of application, allergic, atopic, seborrheic);
- dry skin (including at the site of application).
Storage conditions and periods
Expiration date – up to 3 years from the production date indicated on the package. Storage periods should not be exceeded.
The storage temperature of Pilfud should not exceed 30 ° C. Temperature deviations can change the properties of the preparation, therefore it should always be stored in its original packaging.
