Local antimicrobial antiseptic drug Pimafucin. It is used to treat infections of fungal etiology that are caused by a microflora that is sensitive to the drug, in particular, with candidal vulvovaginitis caused by various pathogenic fungi, and in particular with the yeast Candida albicans, which is most often the cause of infection of the genital organs.
Description
Pimafucin сomposition
Active ingredient: 1 g cream
natamycin 20 mg
Excipients: decyl oleate, cetyl ether wax, cetostearyl alcohol, sodium lauryl sulfate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), propylene glycol, purified water.

Indications
Pimafucin is used to treat infections of fungal etiology that are caused by microflora sensitive to the drug, such as:
- fungal infections of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract, provoked by low immunity, cachexia, taking antibiotics, cytostatics or glucocorticosteroids;
- candidal vulvovaginitis;
- fungal infection of the skin and skin appendages.
Also, the use of Pimafucin is advisable as part of the complex treatment of systemic fungal infections.
Contraindications
Pimafucin is not prescribed for hypersensitivity to natamycin.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Pimafucin can be used in the therapy of pregnant and nursing women, since there is no evidence that it can have a negative effect on the development of a fetus or a breastfed baby of a mother receiving treatment with this drug.
Method of administration and dosage
Apply the cream to the affected skin 1-4 times a day daily. The duration of therapy is usually 2-3 weeks.
Overdose
Due to the fact that Pimafucin has low adsorption, the possibility of drug overdose is virtually zero.
Side effects
At the very beginning of treatment with Pimafucin, the patient may develop diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, but these symptoms disappear very quickly and do not require discontinuation of the drug.
With local use of Pimafucin, the patient may experience a burning sensation and itching in the area of application of the cream.
Storage conditions and periods
The drug is stored in a cool, dark place, out of the reach of children. Shelf life is 4 years. Regardless of the dosage form, it is strictly forbidden to use Pimafucin after the end of the storage period, as this can cause irreparable harm to health.
