Pharmacological properties
Plantex medicinal product based on fennel fruits. It is very popular among young mothers as a fight against infant colic. The drug is recommended by pediatricians to relieve the digestive system of newborns, which is not yet formed and suffers from gas formation.
Plantex facilitates the passage of gases, normalizes intestinal motility, regulates the digestive system, and increases appetite.
Essential oil and fennel extract make the digestion work, stimulating the production of gastric juice and increasing peristalsis, so that the contents of the stomach are digested faster, and in the intestines it is broken down and processed faster. Preventing intestinal spasms, excessive accumulation of gas, elimination of flatulence.
Mostly used to treat and prevent imbalances in the functioning of the digestive tract.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Method of administration and dosage
Plantex is taken orally, dissolved in water with and after meals.

  • Newborns and children under 1 year of age are prescribed 1-2 packs. 2–3 doses per day;
  • Children from 1 to 4 years old 2-3 pack. a day in 2-3 doses.

The contents of the sachet are dissolved in 100 ml of warm water and taken immediately after preparation. It is prohibited to add sugar or other sweeteners to taste.
For infants, the solution can be mixed immediately in a bottle or in a special cup.
If the child does not take a nipple in his mouth, then the solution can be given from a spoon or syringe without a needle.
It is important to remember that one such technique replaces one feeding (for a newborn in view of the size of the stomach), so you should be careful when prescribing Plantex for your baby on your own. The solution should be given especially carefully with an unsettled HS – this can lead to disastrous results.
Some kids just don’t like the taste of fennel. In this case, if the attempt to inject the medicine into the child is more expensive than the fight against colic, then it makes sense to think about using another drug.
