Scientific Evidence
Prilamid combines the ACE inhibitor perindopril with the diuretic indapamide to effectively lower blood pressure. Studies have shown that this combination therapy is more effective in reducing cardiovascular events compared to monotherapy. Research published in the European Heart Journal demonstrated a significant reduction in the risk of stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular mortality with the use of perindopril-indapamide combination therapy.
Additional Information
Prilamid tablets should be stored at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children. It is important to regularly monitor blood pressure levels while taking this medication.
Pharmacological Effects: Perindopril works by inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Indapamide, a thiazide-like diuretic, helps the body eliminate excess water and salt through urine, further lowering blood pressure.
Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have shown that the combination of perindopril and indapamide is well-tolerated and provides superior blood pressure control compared to either drug alone. A study published in the Journal of Hypertension demonstrated the efficacy of this combination in reducing both systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels.
