Procto-Glivenol Composition and release form
The drug consists of a complex of two main active ingredients – tribenoside (5 grams), lidocaine hydrochloride (2 grams). Available in the form of rectal suppositories (suppositories).

Pharmacological properties
Tribenoside, among other qualities, has the ability to reduce the intensity of inflammation, to reduce the property of blood platelets to adhere (sticking together).
Lidocaine blocks sodium channels, thereby stabilizing cell membranes, in addition, it is able to inhibit the production and conduct of pain and other impulses, as a result, the pain syndrome decreases. Topical application of lidocaine does not affect the heart muscle.

Not used in the treatment of hemorrhoids in pregnant women in the first trimester.

Method of administration and dosage
Suppositories (suppositories) Procto-Glivenol are intended for rectal topical administration during the acute phase of hemorrhoids.
In the acute phase of internal hemorrhoids, it is usually applied twice a day, 1 suppository (morning and evening), which is administered behind the sphincter, after the procedure for emptying the intestines and hygienic procedures to cleanse this area. With mild symptoms or after the acute phase of internal hemorrhoids has passed, 1 suppository per day is used.

Overdose

Side effects
