Composition and form of release
Pronoran is manufactured in tablets for oral administration. The main active ingredient of the drug is piribedil.

Indications
Pronoran is used in the complex treatment of chronic cognitive impairment and neurosensory deficiency that occurs during natural aging and is accompanied by disorders of attention, thinking and memory.
Also, the drug has an antiparkinsonian effect, which allows it to be used:

  • as part of monotherapy, with forms of the disease accompanied by severe tremor;
  • as part of a complex treatment with levodopoikak at the initial, so and advanced stages of the disease, accompanied by tremors;
  • as part of auxiliary symptomatic therapy for intermittent limb, which arose against the background of obliterating lesions of the arteries of the lower extremities;
  • treatment of symptoms of ophthalmic pathologies of ischemic etiology, such as decreased visual acuity, narrowing of the field of vision and impaired perception of color contrast.

Contraindications
Not prescribed for individual sensitivity to the ingredients of the drug, as well as in cases where the patient’s history contains information that the patient has suffered an acute myocardial infarction or collapse. It is unacceptable to use Pronoran for the treatment of children under 18 years of age, as well as use it as part of a complex treatment in conjunction with antipsychotics.
With extreme caution, the drug should be used to treat patients with fructose, galactose or glucose intolerance, as well as patients who have sucrosoisomaltase deficiency.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Pronoran is usually used to treat elderly patients in whom pregnancy is virtually impossible. In the course of the study, it was found that the drug is able to penetrate the placental barrier and accumulate in the tissues of the fetus, which does not allow its use in the therapy of nursing and pregnant women.

Method of administration and dosage
The tablets are taken orally, without chewing and with a small amount of water. In the treatment of all pathological conditions, with the exception of Parkinson’s disease, the drug is taken in 1 tablet r / s, in the treatment of severe forms of cognitive impairment, the dose can be increased to 2 tablets per day.
When treating Parkinson’s disease, it is necessary to take 3 to 5 tablets per day, divided into three doses. If an increase in the dose is necessary to achieve the desired therapeutic effect, then it is increased every two weeks by 1 tablet.

Overdose
Overdose is accompanied by the development of blood pressure lability, disruption of the digestive system, nausea and vomiting. To improve the patient’s condition, he undergoes gastric lavage and symptomatic treatment is prescribed.

Side effects
Long-term use in high doses may be accompanied by the occurrence of confusion, hallucinations, dizziness, anxiety, increased drowsiness, lability of blood pressure, and allergic reactions. With the complex use of Pronoran with dopamine agonists or levodopa, the patient may experience an irresistible craving for gambling, increased libido, or hypersexuality.

Storage conditions and periods
Pronoran is stored out of the reach of children, in a dry and dark place. The shelf life of the drug is 3 years.
