Additional Information
- Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not freeze. Once opened, use within 2 weeks.
- Pharmacological Effects: Budesonide, a corticosteroid, exerts its anti-inflammatory action by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators and reducing the infiltration of inflammatory cells in the airways. This helps to decrease airway hyperresponsiveness and improve asthma symptoms.
- Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of Pulmicort in reducing asthma exacerbations, improving lung function, and enhancing quality of life in patients with persistent asthma. In a randomized controlled trial published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Pulmicort was found to significantly reduce the rate of severe asthma exacerbations compared to placebo.
