Composition

active substance: ramipril; hydrochlorothiazide;

1 tablet contains ramipril 2.5 mg and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg or ramipril 5 mg and hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg;

excipients: sodium bicarbonate, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, pregelatinized starch, sodium stearyl fumarate.

The main physical and chemical properties:

  • ramipril 2.5 mg/hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg tablets: uncoated, flat, capsule-shaped, white to off-white, scored on one side, marked 12.5;
  • ramipril 5 mg/hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg tablets: uncoated, flat, capsule-shaped, white to off-white, scored on one side and side walls, marked 25.

Pharmacological properties

Ramag H tablets are a combination drug for the effective treatment of arterial hypertension, which helps to control blood pressure if combination therapy is not enough. The drug has hypotensive and diuretic effects.

Indications for use

The Ramag H tablets are used for the treatment of arterial hypertension, as well as for monotherapy with ramipril or hydrochlorothiazide, when blood pressure is not properly controlled.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated if the patient has such diseases: liver failure, liver and kidney dysfunction, angioedema, renal stenosis, electrolyte imbalance, diabetes mellitus, and also if there is an individual intolerance to the components that make up the drug. Contraindications are also: children under the age of 18 and the simultaneous treatment with Ramag H and extracorporeal methods, including dialysis or hemofiltration.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Taking the drug during pregnancy and lactation, as well as women planning pregnancy, is contraindicated.

Method of administration and dosage

Start treatment with Ramag H tablets with a minimum dose. After that, if necessary, the dosage can be gradually increased to the maximum dose of 10 mg of ramipril and 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide per day, as well as until the desired blood pressure is reached. If patients receive diuretics, then before starting therapy, the dose of the diuretic should be reduced or stopped altogether. The dose for each patient is selected individually by the doctor, depending on what blood pressure and the general condition of the patient. The drug is taken once a day, preferably in the morning, regardless of food intake, without chewing or crushing.

Overdose

In case of overdose, the following are possible: renal failure, electrolyte imbalance, bradycardia, epileptic seizures, impaired consciousness, including coma, paresis and paralytic intestinal obstruction, excessive expansion of peripheral vessels, including arterial hypotension and shock. In case of an overdose, the patient needs to rinse the stomach and take adsorbents to cleanse the body. Treatment should be symptomatic.

Side effects

When taking the drug, adverse reactions occur in the form of headache, cough, dizziness, bronchitis, decompensation of diabetes mellitus, shortness of breath, pain and discomfort in the abdomen, sinusitis, indigestion, dyspepsia, nausea, fatigue, asthenia, myalgia.

Imbalance, a decrease in the level of potassium in the blood, myocardial ischemia, a feeling of increased heartbeat, tachycardia, peripheral edema, arrhythmia, a decrease in the number of leukocytes, platelets and erythrocytes, paresthesia, a decrease in hemoglobin levels, eosinophilia vertigo are also possible.

Adverse reactions when using Ramag H include: decreased glucose tolerance, burning sensation, apathy, nervousness, decreased mood tremors, ageusia, visual impairment, dysgeusia, rash, nasal congestion, hepatitis, gastritis, renal dysfunction, angioedema, itching, constipation, hyperhidrosis.

In individual cases, when using tablets, there are: vomiting, diarrhea, dry mouth, glossitis, pain in the upper abdomen, stomatitis.
