Composition

active ingredients: desogestrel, ethinyl estradiol;

1 coated tablet contains desogestrel 0.15 mg and ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg;

excipients: alpha-tocopherol (all-rac-α-tocopherol), magnesium stearate, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, stearic acid, povidone, potato starch, lactose monohydrate;

shell composition: propylene glycol, macrogol 6000, hypromelose.

Dosage form

Coated tablets.

Basic physical and chemical properties: white or almost white, round, biconvex film-coated tablets, about 6 mm in diameter, marked “P8” on one side of the tablet and “RG” on the other.

Indications

Regulon tablets is used as an oral contraceptive and is also used to treat menstrual irregularities such as postmenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea and dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Contraindications

Regulon is not used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In addition, the use of the drug is unacceptable if the patient has intolerance to the components of the drug, severe violations in the liver, hereditary form of hyperlipidemia, arterial hypertension, herpes of the second type, migraine, vaginal bleeding of unexplained etiology, epilepsy, the presence of estrogen-dependent neoplasms of sugar, or severe forms of suspected diabetes, impaired blood clotting, thromboembolism and thrombosis in anamnesis.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Pregnancy is an absolute contraindication for the appointment of Regulon.

Method of administration and dosage

The drug Regulon tablets is taken from the first day of the menstrual cycle. Taking the drug does not require the use of additional methods of contraception. In the event that the first pill intake came from 2 to 5 days of the menstrual cycle, then it is necessary to use additional methods of contraception for at least another week. If more than 5 days have passed since the beginning of the cycle, it is recommended to start taking the drug from the next cycle.

Regulon should be taken one tablet once a day, preferably at the same time. After taking 21 tablets, a seven-day break should be made, during which a menstrual reaction is observed.

Seven days later, you can start taking a new package, even if the bleeding has not stopped yet.

After childbirth, the resumption of taking the drug is possible only after termination of breastfeeding, but not earlier than 21 days after childbirth. If after childbirth sexual intercourse has already occurred, you should postpone taking the drug until the onset of menstruation.

If you switch to taking Regulon tablets after other oral contraceptive drugs, you should start taking it the next day, after you stop taking the previous drug. If it is necessary to provoke a delay in the onset of the next menstruation, the pills should be taken without a week break.

Overdose

When taking Regulon tablets in high doses, patients may develop headache, calf muscle cramps and dyspepsia. To eliminate undesirable phenomena, the patient is prescribed symptomatic treatment.

Side effects

When taking Regulon tablets, patients may experience vomiting, nausea, liver dysfunction, intermenstrual bleeding, violation of the vaginal microflora, decreased libido, uterine fibroids, increased blood pressure, thromboembolism of various localization, emotional lability, depression, headaches, discomfort when wearing contact lenses, weight gain, erythema nodosum.
