Composition

active ingredient: salicylic acid;

1 ml of solution contains salicylic acid 20 mg;

excipient: ethyl alcohol 70%.

Pharmacological properties

Antiseptic. When applied topically, it has an antimicrobial, irritating, distracting effect.

Indications

Salicylic acid solution for skin used for infectious skin lesions: common acne, pyoderma.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the drug.

Application features

Avoid contact with eyes, do not apply to mucous membranes.
You should not violate the rules for using the drug – this can harm your health.
Do not apply the drug to large areas of the skin.

Application during pregnancy or lactation

During pregnancy and lactation, the use of the drug is possible only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

Method of administration and dosage

Salicylic acid solution for skin apply externally, lubricating or rubbing the affected areas of the skin with a cotton swab soaked in the drug, 2 – 3 times a day. The course of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the nature and severity of the disease.

Children

Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Overdose

When using large doses of the drug, keratolytic action and allergic reactions may increase. In this case, the drug must be washed off with water, consult a doctor. Therapy is symptomatic.

Side effects

Changes in the skin are possible: dryness, peeling, irritation, contact dermatitis, manifestations of allergic reactions (urticaria, itching), which requires discontinuation of the drug.
With prolonged use, the drug may be absorbed into the general bloodstream and the development of side effects characteristic of salicylates: tinnitus, dizziness, epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, acidosis, rapid breathing.
