Scientific Evidence:

Doxylamine succinate, the active ingredient in Sonmil tablets, is a first-generation antihistamine with sedative properties. Studies have shown its efficacy in improving sleep onset and duration. Research published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine demonstrated that doxylamine succinate significantly reduced the time to fall asleep and improved sleep efficiency in patients with insomnia.

Additional Information:

It is important to note that prolonged use of Sonmil tablets may lead to tolerance and dependence. Consult a healthcare professional if sleeplessness persists for more than 2 weeks. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Pharmacological Effects: Doxylamine succinate exerts its sedative effects by antagonizing histamine H1 receptors in the brain, leading to CNS depression and sedation. It also exhibits anticholinergic properties, contributing to its sedative and hypnotic actions.

Clinical Trials: In a comparative study published in the Journal of Sleep Research, doxylamine succinate was found to be as effective as zolpidem in improving sleep latency and duration in patients with primary insomnia. The study concluded that both medications were well-tolerated and significantly improved sleep parameters.
