Composition
active substances: 100 ml of the drug contain amylmetacresol 0.223 g; 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol 0.446 g; lidocaine 0.6 g;
excipients: ethanol 96%; citric acid, monohydrate; glycerin; sorbitol solution that does not crystallize (E 420); saccharin; levomenthol; peppermint flavoring; anise flavoring; carmoisine edicol (E 122); purified water; sodium hydroxide; concentrated hydrochloric acid.

Pharmacological properties
Amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol have an antiseptic effect, lidocaine – a local anesthetic. Strepsils Plus is an antiseptic combination drug with local anesthetic action. Active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms in vitro; also has an antifungal effect.
Indication for use Strepsils Plus spray
Symptomatic treatment of infections of the mouth and throat, as well as to relieve severe sore throat.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug or to other amide local anesthetics. Patients suffering from asthma and bronchospasm. Asthma and bronchospasm.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
No clinically significant drug interactions with drugs of other groups were detected.
Features of application
Do not exceed the specified dose. If the symptoms of the disease persist longer

In case of loss of sensitivity of the tongue, caution should be exercised when eating hot food and water. The spray can cause numbness of the tongue, so caution should be exercised when eating or drinking after taking the drug. Do not inhale the spray. Avoid contact with eyes.
Patients taking any other medicines should consult a doctor before using the spray.
The drug should not be used immediately before and during meals to prevent food from entering the respiratory tract due to the local anesthetic effect of lidocaine.
The local analgesic effect of lidocaine can cause temporary numbness of the mouth and pharynx, and can also affect the swallowing process.
Use with caution in patients with erosive and desquamative changes of the oral mucosa, fresh large wounds in the mouth and pharynx.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
The safety of this medicine for use in pregnant women has not been established. Therefore, it is not recommended to use this drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless the patient is under medical supervision.
Ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving a vehicle with other mechanisms.
No effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been reported.
Method of application and dosage
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time required to treat symptoms.
Appointed for adults and children over 12 years.
The interval between receptions should make not less than 2 hours.
Adults and children from 15 years old

Children aged 12 to 15 years

Overdose
Overdose can manifest symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort in the form of distortion of taste sensitivity, nausea, vomiting, and can also cause excessive anesthesia of the upper respiratory tract and digestive tract. In this case, it is necessary to stop using the drug and carry out symptomatic treatment.
Significant overdoses of lidocaine affect the nervous and cardiovascular systems and can also cause methemoglobinemia. Methemoglobinemia is treated by immediate intravenous administration of 1-4 mg / kg of methylene blue.
Side effects
In some cases (with hypersensitivity), an immediate and delayed allergic reaction may develop. In this case, rashes of various types (urticaria, papular, erythematous rash, etc.), itching, irritation of the oropharyngeal mucosa can be observed. In rare cases, severe allergy reactions may occur, accompanied by shortness of breath, facial edema, and a drop in blood pressure (anaphylaxis, angioedema). Nausea, stomatitis, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, discomfort in the mouth, heartburn, and dysgeusia may also occur.
At the first signs of allergy, you need to remove the lollipop from the mouth, stop treatment, seek medical help. According to the indications, symptomatic therapy is carried out.
