Pharmacological properties

Sulperazon powder for solution is a combination of sulbactam sodium and cefoperazone sodium.

Sulbactam sodium is a derivative of the main penicillin nucleus. It is an irreversible beta-lactamase inhibitor and is used only parenterally. By chemical structure it is a sulfone of sodium penicillinate. Contains 92 mg of sodium (4 mEq) per 1 gram. Sulbactam is a very easily soluble, almost white crystalline powder. The molecular weight is 255.22.

Cefoperazone sodium is a semi-synthetic cephalosporin antibiotic of the third generation with a broad spectrum of action, which is used only parenterally. Contains 34 mg of sodium (1.5 mEq) per 1 gram. Cefoperazone is a white water-soluble crystalline powder. The molecular weight is 667.65.

Indications

An antibiotic with a pronounced bactericidal effect. It is used as a medicine for infectious diseases of various organs, for example, for the treatment of infections of the respiratory and genitourinary systems. In addition, the drug is effective if the abdominal and pelvic organs, skin and soft tissues, the musculoskeletal system are affected by infections, as well as in meningitis and septicemia.
It has a pronounced bactericidal effect due to active active ingredients – sulbactam, which contains a penicillin nucleus and has the ability to irreversibly inhibit beta-lactamase and cefoperazou, a synthetic antibiotic of the cephalosporin group, capable of inhibiting the synthesis of mucopeptides of microorganism cell membranes. Due to the presence of sulbactam, the activity of the drug is 400% higher than that of pure cefoperazone. In general, the drug is active against gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.

Contraindications

It is not prescribed for an allergic reaction to one of the active substances of the drug.
It should be prescribed with caution if the patient is diagnosed with impaired renal or liver function, obstructive diseases of the urinary tract, as well as patients who have been taking parenteral nutrition and anticoagulant treatment for a long time.
