Tonzilotren (Atropinum sulfuricum, Hepar sulfuris) tablets №60

Composition

active substances: 1 tablet contains Atropinum sulfuricum D5 12.5 mg; Hepar sulfuris D3 10 mg; Potassium bichromicum D4 50 mg; Silicea D2 5 mg; Mercurius biodatus D8 25 mg;

Excipients: lactose monohydrate, sucrose, magnesium stearate.

Dosage form

Tablets.

Main physical and chemical properties: white or almost white, sometimes with individual dark spots, biplane tablets with beveled edge, odorless or with a slight odor of sulfur.

Pharmacological properties

The combination of five homeopathic monocomponents stimulates the body’s own defense mechanisms against viral and bacterial infections of the pharynx at different stages of inflammation.

Indications

Tonzilotren tablets is indicated for the treatment of acute angina (follicular, catarrhal and lacunar) and chronic tonsillitis. In addition, it is prescribed in complex therapy for the rapid regeneration of the pharyngeal mucosa after tonsillectomy (removal of the tonsils).

Contraindications

Tonzilotren tablets is not indicated for the treatment of those patients with a history of hypersensitivity to chromium and its other ingredients. In addition, it is recommended to refuse to use the drug if the patient has hypersensitivity or lactose intolerance. Tonsilotren is not intended for the treatment of children under 3 years of age.
With extreme caution, the drug is prescribed to patients who suffer from hyperthyroidism.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Tonzilotren tablets can be used for the treatment of pregnant and lactating women only after careful analysis of the severity of the expected positive effect on the health of the mother and the perceived danger to the child or fetus.

Method of administration and dosage

Tonzilotren tablets is taken 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after a meal. During the intake, the tablet is not swallowed, but slowly absorbed in the oral cavity. Children from 3 to 5 years old are advised to dissolve the tablet in a small amount of water and give it under the tongue.
In the acute period, adults and children over 12 years old take 1 tablet every 60 minutes during the first and second day, children from 3 to 12 years old take the drug for the first second day, 1 tablet every 2 hours, but no more than 8 tablets per knock … The rest of the time it is recommended to take 1 tablet 3 times a day.
In the treatment of chronic tonsillitis, adults take 1 or 2 tablets no more often than 3 times a day, from 3 to 12 years old – 1 tablet 3 times a day. Duration of treatment is from 6 to 8 weeks. To prevent exacerbations of the disease, treatment with the drug must be carried out 2 – 3 times a year.

Overdose

At the moment, there is no data on cases of overdose with Tonzilotren, in this regard, if the drug is accidentally taken in an increased dose, in case of any disorders in the patient’s condition, it is recommended to seek help from the nearest medical institution.

Side effects

Even with long-term treatment with Tonsilotren, patients very rarely develop side effects. Sometimes taking the drug can cause increased salivation and the development of various allergic reactions, which are manifested by itching, redness and burning of the oral mucosa. In this case, you need to stop taking Tonsilotren and replace it with a drug that has a similar effect.
