Description

Tracrium (atracurium besylate) solution for injections 10 mg/ml. 5 ml. vials №5

Ingredients:

Each 5 ml vial contains 50 mg of atracurium besylate as the active ingredient.

Dosage:

The dosage of Tracrium should be individualized based on the patient’s weight, age, and condition. The usual initial dose is 0.4 to 0.5 mg/kg administered intravenously.

Indications:

Tracrium is indicated as an adjunct to general anesthesia to facilitate endotracheal intubation and provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery or mechanical ventilation.

Contraindications:

Tracrium is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to atracurium besylate or any of the ingredients in the formulation.

Directions:

Tracrium should be administered by trained healthcare professionals experienced in the use of neuromuscular blocking agents. The injection should be given slowly over 30-60 seconds.

Scientific Evidence:

A study by Xiong et al. (2018) demonstrated the efficacy of atracurium besylate in providing rapid onset and offset of muscle relaxation, making it a valuable agent in surgical settings. The study highlighted the predictable duration of action and minimal side effects associated with atracurium besylate.

Additional Information:

Tracrium is known for its intermediate duration of action, making it suitable for a wide range of surgical procedures. It is metabolized in the plasma and tissues by Hofmann elimination and ester hydrolysis, reducing the risk of accumulation in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.

Furthermore, clinical trials have shown that Tracrium has a rapid onset of action, reaching maximum neuromuscular blockade within 2-3 minutes of administration, allowing for quick intubation and muscle relaxation during procedures.
