Scientific Evidence
Trimebutine maleate, the active ingredient in Trimspa tablets, acts as a modulator of gastrointestinal motility. Studies have shown its efficacy in reducing abdominal pain, bloating, and discomfort associated with IBS. Research published in the “Journal of Gastroenterology” demonstrated the positive effects of trimebutine in improving colonic transit time and overall IBS symptoms.
Additional Information
Trimspa tablets have a coated formulation that ensures optimal delivery of the active ingredient to the gastrointestinal tract, enhancing its therapeutic effects. It is important to store the tablets in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If you experience any adverse reactions or persistent symptoms, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider.
Pharmacological Effects: Trimebutine maleate exerts its pharmacological action by acting as a peripheral mu-opioid receptor agonist and a calcium channel blocker, thereby regulating gastrointestinal motility and reducing visceral hypersensitivity.
Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have shown that trimebutine maleate is well-tolerated and effective in improving symptoms of IBS, such as abdominal pain and altered bowel habits. A study published in the “European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology” highlighted the significant improvement in quality of life measures in patients treated with trimebutine compared to placebo.
