Tulizid (Ceftazidime) Powder for Solution for Injections 1 g Vial №1
Ingredients:
- Each vial contains ceftazidime (as ceftazidime pentahydrate) 1 g.
Dosage:
- The usual adult dose of Tulizid is 1 to 6 g daily in divided doses, administered by intravenous infusion over 30 minutes.
Indications:
- Tulizid is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms, including lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and skin structure infections, and intra-abdominal infections.
Contraindications:
- Do not use Tulizid if there is a known hypersensitivity to ceftazidime or other cephalosporins. Use with caution in patients with a history of penicillin allergy.
Directions:
- Tulizid should be reconstituted with the appropriate diluent as directed before administration. Follow aseptic techniques during reconstitution.
Scientific Evidence:
- Ceftazidime, the active ingredient in Tulizid, is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic effective against many Gram-negative bacteria. Studies support its efficacy in nosocomial pneumonia and complicated urinary tract infections.
