Urosept (pіpemidic acid) suppositories 0.2 g. №10

Composition

active substance: ripemidic acid;

1 suppository contains pipemidic acid trihydrate in terms of dry matter 0.2 g (200 mg);

Excipient: solid fat.

Dosage form

Suppositories.

Main physical and chemical properties: suppositories white or white with a yellowish tinge, spherical shape. The presence of plaque on the surface of the suppository is allowed.

Pharmacological properties

The drug Urosept is a drug that is used to treat infectious and inflammatory diseases, belongs to the antibacterial agents of the quinolone group. When treating with the drug, you need to drink a lot of fluids. The drug contains pipemidic acid, which has a bactericidal effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteusvulgaris, Escherichiacoli, Klebsiellapneumoniae, Neisseriaspp., Proteusmirabilis.

Indications for use

Before starting to use the drug, a doctor’s consultation is required.
Indications for the use of the drug Urosept are such infectious and inflammatory diseases: prostatitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis.

Contraindications

Contraindications to the use of the drug are: liver dysfunction, renal dysfunction, hypersensitivity to chilones and pipemidic acid, porphyria, liver cirrhosis, low convulsive threshold, epilepsy.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding period

The drug Urosept is strictly prohibited during pregnancy and breastfeeding!

Mode of application

Before using the drug, you need to consult a doctor for advice. After the appointment, you need to tear off 1 suppository in the primary package along the perforation line, then, holding on to the edges of the film, tear it in different directions, then release the suppository from the primary package.
You need to use the drug for 10 days: 2 times a day, 1 suppository rectally or vaginally. With further instructions from the doctor, you can increase the dose: 3 suppositories for 1 day (1 suppository – 3 times a day).
Taking the drug is not recommended for children.

Overdose

In case of an overdose with Urosept, the following are observed: headache, vomiting, dizziness, nausea, tremors, confusion and convulsions. With a large amount of the drug in the patient’s body, he must lose consciousness, if this has not happened, then he needs to induce vomiting, rinse his stomach and the doctor prescribes activated carbon to the patient; in case of convulsions, the doctor should prescribe diazepam to the patient.

Adverse reactions

Side effects of using the drug are: pain, irritation, itching in the place where the drug was injected, depression, hallucinations, agitation, confusion, sensory disturbances, dizziness, tremors, sleep disturbances, convulsions, headache, vertigo, visual impairment, acute arthropathy, anorexia, tendonitis, abdominal pain, flatulence, pseudomembranous colitis, photosensitivity, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, weakness, superinfection, diarrhea, development of resistance, anaphylactic shock, trial. If all these reactions occur, treatment should be discontinued.
