Properties
Thanks to a special technology of programmed release, the action of Zafacol coated tablets begins directly in the large intestine, promoting the normal functioning of mucous membrane cells, reducing inflammation, normalizing peristalsis, restoring the microbiocenosis. Thanks to its complex action, Zafacol helps to eliminate intestinal discomfort (pain, cramps, bloating, heaviness), regulate stool and improve the quality of life (psycho-emotional state) of a person.
Butyric acid is a short-chain fatty acid that is formed in the large intestine during the fermentation of fiber by microflora and performs the following functions:
- provides energy to the cells of the mucous membrane of the large intestine, helps to restore energy status and improve metabolic processes in colonocytes;
- improves the intestinal barrier and prevents the penetration of pathogenic bacteria from the intestinal lumen into the bloodstream due to:
a) stimulation of mucin synthesis and mucus secretion;
b) induction in colonocytes and phagocytes of production of antimicrobial substances;
c) strengthening the links between colonocytes. - stimulates the processes of physiological proliferation of normal colonocytes and helps maintain the integrity of the mucous membrane and its recovery in case of intestinal damage;
- reduces the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines and has anti-inflammatory effects;
- regulates water-electrolyte balance in the large intestine;
reduces visceral hypersensitivity and pain; - provides colonization resistance of the intestine by inhibiting the growth and reproduction of pathogenic bacteria.
Inulin is a fructooligosaccharide (a complex carbohydrate of plant origin), which belongs to the group of prebiotics and exhibits its functional properties in the large intestine, where it is completely absorbed and hydrolyzed by the intestinal microflora, mainly bifidobacteria. Endogenous butyric acid is formed during the microbial metabolism of inulin. Promoting the reproduction and active growth of normal intestinal microflora, inulin enhances colonization resistance (ie prevents the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms) and detoxification function of the microflora, as well as its ability to support all metabolic substances in the body and all functions of the gastrointestinal tract, gastrointestinal tract. , excretory, immune).
Bifidobacteria are a necessary component of the normal intestinal microflora and contribute to:
maintenance and normalization of intestinal microbiocenosis and protection against intestinal infections due to high adhesive properties, antagonistic activity against pathogenic and opportunistic flora, production of organic acids (lactic and acetic) and lowering pH in the intestine, reducing permeability of intestinal mucosal pathogens , toxins and allergens, increase the rate of regeneration of the mucous membrane;
- improving digestion and absorption of nutrients, vitamins and minerals;
- synthesis of B vitamins, vitamin K, folic and nicotinic acids;
- absorption of calcium and vitamin D;
maintaining immunity; - normalization of intestinal peristalsis.
Given the properties of the components, Zafacol coated tablets can be used in:
dyspeptic phenomena that occur in functional disorders of the intestine, dysregulation of stool, disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, inflammatory phenomena in the mucous membrane of the colon;
- the need to normalize the intestinal microbiocenosis as a result of antibiotics;
- various somatic infectious diseases; age changes;
- physical activity;
- the impact of negative environmental, climatic, stressful and social factors.
