Scientific Evidence

Studies have shown that sertaconazole, the active ingredient in Zalain ovuli, effectively treats vaginal yeast infections. Research published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy demonstrated the antifungal activity of sertaconazole against various Candida species.

Additional Information

Zalain ovuli provides targeted treatment directly to the site of infection, resulting in faster symptom relief compared to oral medications. It is well-tolerated with minimal side effects, making it a convenient option for women with vaginal yeast infections.

Pharmacological Effects: Sertaconazole exerts its antifungal activity by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption leads to fungal cell death, effectively treating the infection.

Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have shown that Zalain ovuli is as effective as other antifungal treatments in resolving vaginal yeast infections. A study published in the European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology demonstrated the high efficacy and safety profile of sertaconazole in the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis.
