Scientific Evidence:
Lercanidipine hydrochloride, the active ingredient in Zanidip tablets, is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that works by selectively inhibiting calcium ion influx through L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle. This action leads to vasodilation and a reduction in blood pressure.
Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of lercanidipine in lowering blood pressure and managing hypertension. A study published in the Journal of Hypertension showed that lercanidipine was effective in reducing both systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels in patients with essential hypertension.
Additional Information:
- It is important to regularly monitor blood pressure levels while taking Zanidip tablets to ensure optimal control of hypertension.
- Inform your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking to avoid potential drug interactions.
- Consult your doctor before starting or stopping any medication. In case of any adverse reactions or concerns, seek medical advice promptly.
