Description
Allesta (Simvastatin) Tablets 40 mg. №30
Composition:

Pharmacological Properties:
Simvastatin belongs to the class of statins and is a competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase. It lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol levels. Additionally, simvastatin exhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
Indications for Use:
Allesta is indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with elevated lipid levels.
Contraindications:
Avoid using Allesta if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active liver disease, or hypersensitivity to simvastatin or any component of the tablet.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include muscle pain, weakness, gastrointestinal disturbances, and headache.
- Rare but serious side effects may include rhabdomyolysis, liver dysfunction, and memory loss.
Usage Instructions:
The recommended dose is one 40 mg tablet daily, preferably taken in the evening. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, without crushing or chewing it.
Benefits Compared to Analogues:
Studies have shown that simvastatin, the active ingredient in Allesta, effectively reduces LDL cholesterol levels and provides cardiovascular protection. Compared to other statins, simvastatin has a well-established safety profile and is available at a lower cost.
Suitable Patient Groups:
Allesta can be used in adult patients with high cholesterol levels. Dosage adjustments may be necessary for elderly individuals or those with renal impairment. It is not recommended for use in pregnant women or children.
Storage and Shelf Life:
Store Allesta tablets in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. The shelf life of the product is mentioned on the packaging.
Packaging Description:
Allesta tablets are packed in blister packs of 30 tablets each. The packaging should be intact and undamaged before use.
Clinical Evidence and Proven Effectiveness:
Simvastatin has been extensively studied in various clinical trials, demonstrating its efficacy in reducing LDL cholesterol and improving cardiovascular outcomes. Clinical studies have shown that simvastatin significantly lowers the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.
