Description
Furostim Capsules 50 mg/20 mg. №30
Ingredients:
Each capsule contains 50 mg of Furosemide and 20 mg of Spironolactone.
Mechanism of Action:
Furosemide is a loop diuretic that inhibits the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the ascending loop of Henle in the kidneys. Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic that acts by antagonizing aldosterone, leading to increased excretion of sodium and water while retaining potassium.
Pharmacological Properties:
Furostim capsules combine the diuretic effects of Furosemide with the potassium-sparing actions of Spironolactone, offering a dual mechanism to reduce fluid retention and edema.
Indications for Use:
Furostim capsules are indicated for the treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and renal disease. They are also used in the management of hypertension and ascites.
Contraindications:
Avoid using Furostim capsules if you are allergic to Furosemide, Spironolactone, or any other ingredients in the product. Do not take if you have anuria, acute renal failure, or hyperkalemia. Use with caution in patients with electrolyte imbalances.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of Furostim capsules may include electrolyte imbalances, dehydration, dizziness, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience severe symptoms like muscle cramps, irregular heartbeat, or signs of allergic reactions.
Usage Instructions:
The typical dosage is one Furostim capsule taken orally once daily, with or without food. Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water to ensure proper absorption.
Benefits Compared to Analogues:
Furostim capsules offer the advantage of dual diuretic action, combining the potency of Furosemide with the potassium-sparing effects of Spironolactone. This combination provides enhanced fluid reduction and minimizes the risk of electrolyte disturbances compared to using each drug individually.
Suitable Patient Groups:
Furostim capsules are suitable for adult patients with edema related to heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or renal impairment. They can be used in pediatric populations under appropriate medical supervision. Caution is advised in elderly patients and those with compromised renal function.
Storage and Shelf Life:
Store Furostim capsules in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the product out of reach of children and pets. Check the expiration date on the packaging and do not use the capsules beyond the stated shelf life.
Packaging Description:
Furostim capsules are packed in blister packs of 30 capsules each, ensuring convenient and hygienic storage. The packaging is designed to maintain the stability and integrity of the capsules until the expiration date.
Clinical Evidence and Proven Effectiveness:
Furostim capsules have undergone rigorous clinical trials to evaluate their efficacy in managing edema and fluid retention. Studies published in reputable journals have demonstrated the superior efficacy of the Furosemide-Spironolactone combination in reducing edema compared to Furosemide alone.
