Description

Lansoprol Capsules 30 mg. №28

Ingredients:

Each capsule contains 30 mg of Lansoprazole.

Mechanism of Action:

Lansoprazole, the active ingredient in Lansoprol capsules, is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by selectively inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells. This action leads to a reduction in gastric acid secretion by blocking the final step of acid production.

Pharmacological Properties:

Lansoprazole exhibits high specificity and potency in inhibiting gastric acid secretion. It has a prolonged duration of action, providing sustained acid suppression. The drug is well-absorbed orally and reaches peak plasma concentrations within hours of administration.

Indications for Use:

Lansoprol capsules are indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including erosive esophagitis, duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Contraindications:

Do not use Lansoprol capsules if you have a known hypersensitivity to Lansoprazole or any component of the formulation. Avoid concomitant use with atazanavir and nelfinavir due to potential drug interactions.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Lansoprol capsules may include headache, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Rare but serious adverse reactions such as Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, hypomagnesemia, and vitamin B12 deficiency have been reported. Monitor for signs of allergic reactions and severe skin disorders.

Usage Instructions:

The recommended dosage of Lansoprol is one 30 mg capsule taken orally once daily in the morning before breakfast. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water, preferably at least 30 minutes before a meal. Do not crush, chew, or split the capsule.

Benefits Compared to Analogues:

Lansoprol offers the advantage of once-daily dosing convenience compared to some other PPIs. Its potent acid-suppressing effects and rapid onset of action contribute to effective symptom relief and healing of acid-related disorders. The drug has a well-established safety profile and is widely prescribed for various acid-related conditions.

Suitable Patient Groups:

Lansoprol is suitable for use in adult patients, including the elderly population, for the management of acid-related disorders. The dosage adjustment is not usually required based on age alone. Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment, renal insufficiency, or osteoporosis, as monitoring may be necessary.

Storage and Shelf Life:

Store Lansoprol capsules at controlled room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the medication in the original blister pack until ready to use. Do not freeze. The shelf life of the product is typically 24 months from the date of manufacture.

Packaging Description:

Lansoprol capsules are supplied in blister packs containing 28 capsules each. The packaging is designed to protect the capsules from light and moisture, ensuring the stability and integrity of the product until the expiration date.
