Scientific Evidence
Ambroxol, the active ingredient in Abrol syrup, is a mucolytic agent that works by breaking down and thinning the mucus in the respiratory tract, making it easier to cough up. Studies have shown that ambroxol enhances the production of pulmonary surfactant, which helps improve lung function and reduce respiratory symptoms.
Additional Information
Abrol syrup is well-tolerated and has a good safety profile when used as directed. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not to use it for prolonged periods without medical supervision. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare professional.
Research has also indicated that ambroxol may have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which could contribute to its therapeutic effects in respiratory diseases. Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of ambroxol in improving mucus clearance and reducing cough frequency in patients with chronic bronchitis.
