Additional Information:
It is important to follow a healthy lifestyle while taking Crestor, including a balanced diet and regular exercise. Regular monitoring of cholesterol levels and liver function tests is recommended during treatment with Crestor.
Rosuvastatin, the active ingredient in Crestor, works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis. By lowering cholesterol levels, Crestor helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Crestor has been compared to other statins in clinical trials and has shown comparable or superior efficacy in lowering LDL cholesterol levels. It is considered a first-line treatment for hypercholesterolemia due to its potency and safety profile.
