Description
Geparin Solution for Injections 5000 IU/ml. 5 ml. №5 Vial
Ingredients:
Each ml contains 5000 IU of Heparin Sodium.
Dosage:
The dosage of Geparin should be determined by a healthcare provider based on the individual patient’s condition. It is commonly administered subcutaneously or intravenously.
Indications:
Geparin is indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolic disorders such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and atrial fibrillation.
Contraindications:
Do not use Geparin if there is a history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia or if the patient is at risk of excessive bleeding. Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney impairment.
Directions:
It is essential to follow the healthcare provider’s instructions for the correct administration of Geparin. Injection sites should be rotated, and patients should be monitored for signs of bleeding.
Scientific Evidence:
Studies have shown that Heparin Sodium, the active ingredient in Geparin, exerts its anticoagulant effects by enhancing the activity of antithrombin III, thereby inhibiting the coagulation cascade. Clinical trials have extensively documented this mechanism of action.
Research published in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis has demonstrated the efficacy of Heparin in preventing thromboembolic events in surgical patients. The study revealed a significant reduction in postoperative blood clot risk with Heparin compared to a placebo.
Additional Information:
- Storage: Geparin solution should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
- Side Effects: Common side effects may include bleeding at the injection site, bruising, or allergic reactions.
- Interactions: Patients should inform their healthcare provider about all medications being taken, as interactions may occur with Geparin.
