Metronidazol (Metronidazole) Vaginal Suppositories 0.1g. №10

Ingredients

Each vaginal suppository contains 0.1g of Metronidazole.

Dosage

For vaginal use. Insert one suppository into the vagina once daily, preferably at bedtime, for 10 consecutive days.

Indications

Metronidazole vaginal suppositories are indicated for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis.

Contraindications

Do not use in individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to Metronidazole or other nitroimidazole derivatives.

Directions

Wash hands before and after use. Lie on your back with knees bent, gently insert the suppository into the vagina as far as possible using the applicator provided.

Scientific Evidence

Metronidazole is a well-established treatment for bacterial vaginosis, with studies demonstrating its efficacy in restoring the normal vaginal flora by eliminating the overgrowth of harmful bacteria.

A study published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy showed that Metronidazole suppositories were as effective as oral Metronidazole in treating bacterial vaginosis, with the advantage of localized treatment and potentially fewer systemic side effects.

Additional Information

It is important to complete the full course of treatment with Metronidazole vaginal suppositories, even if symptoms improve before the 10-day regimen is completed, to prevent recurrence of bacterial vaginosis.

Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment with Metronidazole suppositories as it can weaken latex condoms and diaphragms.
