Pharmacological properties
Migranol belongs to a group of drugs used for the treatment of mineraloid attacks. It is used to relieve seizures at various stages.
The main active ingredient, sumatriptan, is a selective agonist of serotonin 5-HT receptors.
Able to influence other five-HT receptors. The latter are found mainly inside the cranial blood vessels.
During research, scientists have established that sumatriptan is capable of producing a selective vasoconstrictor effect on blood vessels involved in the general arterial system of the carotid arteries. At the same time, it has no effect on blood circulation in the brain.
The carotid artery system plays an important role in migraine attacks, since it is their sharp abnormal expansion that leads to the development of mingrenous attacks.
In addition, sumatriptan has the property of influencing the trigeminal nerve, inhibiting its activity, which also contributes to the relief of migraine attacks.
Indications
Migranol is used to quickly relieve migraine attacks.
Effective both with migraine, accompanied by “aura”, and without the latter.
The action begins 30 minutes after taking the standard dose.

- a stroke or transient cerebrovascular accident in the past;
- arterial hypertension;
- severe liver failure.
Do not use concomitantly with ergotamine or its derivatives, any triptan / 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor (5HT1) agonist, as well as monoamine oxidase inhibitors / use within 2 weeks after stopping their use. Not applicable to persons over 65 years of age.
