Scientific Evidence
Nimesulide, the active component in Nimid tablets, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It acts by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), thereby decreasing the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation.
Studies have shown the effectiveness of nimesulide in managing various painful conditions, such as osteoarthritis and acute musculoskeletal disorders. For instance, a study in the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology indicated that nimesulide significantly alleviated pain and enhanced functional outcomes in osteoarthritis patients.
