Scientific Evidence
Nimesulide, the active ingredient in Nimid tablets, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation.
Several studies have demonstrated the efficacy of nimesulide in the treatment of various painful conditions, including osteoarthritis and acute musculoskeletal disorders. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology showed that nimesulide provided significant pain relief and improved functional outcomes in patients with osteoarthritis.
