Pharmacological properties
This drug Normatens belongs to the group of combined antihypertensive and diuretic drugs that are used in the treatment of the cardiovascular system, in particular, arterial hypertension.
The active components of the drug complement each other, providing a powerful hypertensive effect at minimal dosages.

  • Reserpine depletes the reserves of catecholamines in the central nervous system, which leads to a violation of the transmission of nerve impulses, causes a decrease in the tone of the sympathetic nervous system (it has no effect on the parasympathetic nervous system). As a result, there is a decrease in blood pressure and the number of contractions of the heart muscle. Produces a sedative effect that complements the antihypertensive effect. Increases intestinal peristalsis, improves sleep quality, positively affects lipid and protein metabolism.
  • Clopamide, which is part of the drug, is a diuretic from the group of thiazide-like sulfonamides, enhances the excretion of ions in the urine of potassium, chlorine, sodium, reduces the content of sodium ions in the vascular wall, reducing its sensitivity to the action of vasoconstrictor agents.
  • Dihydroergocristine mesylate is a semisynthetic derivative of the alkaloids group, has the property of reducing the tone of vascular smooth muscles, reducing peripheral vascular resistance.

Indications
This drug Normatens is recommended for the treatment of arterial hypertension (persistent high blood pressure).
